Great for Hydroponic seeds
January 23, 2018
I bought these along with some rockwool when starting my hydroponic hobby. I wanted to see how these compared to the rock wool in terms of germination, rooting and overall plant health. So I planted the same seeds in Rapid Rooter and rockwool. I placed them in the same germination setup with a controlled temperature of 75 degrees. For this experiment Lettuce and Swiss Chard was used. After the first 48 hours both media had sprouts. The Rapid Rooter group had small roots already forming. With another 48 hours the roots in the rapid rooter group EXPLODED. The root growth was unbelievable. The rockwool still had none. The rapid rooter group is now ready to be moved to their DWC to continue growing while the rock wool roots are barely visible.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to germinate their seeds quickly and healthy.

It’s all coming up roses ?
September 22, 2018
Got these to replace my old plugs from the Rapid Rooter tray, which I am using to clone a LOT of roses. I am happy to report that this magic material is like heaven to plants, and they basically don’t even notice they are no longer attached to the parent plant—they just keep on growing.
I actually have a few with buds already. They are a few inches tall, and ready to bloom!
These Rapid Rooter plugs have totally changed my garden game, and they are going to save me thousands of dollars in buying roses and other perennials.
The neighbors are going to be very, very jealous.

Not a bad way to start seeds -depending on the seed I find though
April 19, 2019
I am using Raid rooters to start cannabis seeds from scratch. It has taken some trial and error using this method coming from soil. I did happen to find some success using this with a heat mat and a propagation tray and dome. You have to keep your eye on the level of moisture on these to avoid drowning and drying out. Once I get a mother plant selected I will try these with clone cuttings and will update this review at that point in time. To avoid dying these out I keep them in the fridge for prolonged storage as well.

Best way to germinate seeds!
June 12, 2022
Soaked seeds for 12-16 hours, pop these into soaked rapid rooter cubes and then wait. Almost 100% germination rates. I don’t leave mine “in water”, but use these little rapid rooter/plug plastic holders which are readily available at stores. Holds moisture for a couple of days depending on humidity and east to transfer to large medium to grow. Rapid rooter makes seed germination simple and reliable.

By far an excellent starter that leaves the old coin shaped starters in ...

second batch of these and first I think only one or two never sprouted seeds for they grew wrong and killed themselves. By far an excellent starter that leaves the old coin shaped starters in the dust they are made of. These have a sponge type formation and keep air and moisture levels perfect for optimum success rate and works well for starting hydroponic grows. Will not break down and clog emitters.

Really work well
November 03, 2019
These work excellent for rooting clones. I just used one as a test and it rooted way faster than with a jiffy pellet. Some people say they mold up because they are moist in the bag. I am not going to go through the whole bag any time soon so I just froze them so they don’t get funky and will take them out as I need them. I am sure they will be fine after freezing.

All that works for my cuttings
August 18, 2023
For whatever reason these are the only thing I have great success with when taking cuttings. And Ive tried loads of things.
I get a very good success rate with these every time, even without rooting hormone or other supliments. I usually have water issues (high TDS) and these seem to work with whatever Im using.

Perfect for my needs!

I hate messing with dirt when starting seedlings. These are fantastic in a heated dome tray. They germinated in half the time and it's so easy removing them from the tray to replant in the garden. I would suggest using a pair of tweezers if you have blunt fingers such as myself. Definitely recommend these.

Amazing! Should of had these years ago!

These rooting plugs feel like a sponge but are made from peat. Simply plant seed or cutting in the hole in the center,
keep moist and "Voila" it's growing! Unlike traditional mediums they don't crumble and fall apart when you're transplanting
to larger pots. Wouldn't go back to using anything else.

Expensive but worth it.

This things are awesome, I have used them for years for making cuttings and starting seeds. I prefer the original kind that aren't made anymore, they were composted tree bark, these are peat based, and work very good, just a bit slower than the originals.
