Ona Mist Dispenser - OC0035XX

I love the ONA products and I thought I would try out the ONA mist dispenser. I read a lot of the reviews and saw a few negative ones, but decided to give a go anyways.I took it out of the box, popped in the batteries, and put one a 6 oz can of PolarMist ONA spray into the holding spot. This is where I see where everyone has the negative comment. When you turn on your timer settings, the small gears turn and pushes down on the top of the can, causing it to mist out the spout. The problem is the spout is not fixed very tightly straight ahead, so it has a tendency to start turning as it sprays. A few hours later and the spout opening would be covered by the dispenser casing, not allowing it to spray outward properly. You can fix this by taking a few sliver of cardboard and putting them on each side of the spout. This way there is very little left-right movement allowed. Kind of a bad product design, but I have a Lysol dispenser that uses this same exact design. Which leads me to my next obversation:This is dispenser design seems to be pretty popular. I have a Lysol mist dispenser and it appears to be almost completely identical despite some branding changes. My 6 oz ONA cans fit in the Lysol mist dispenser and work too; so if you already have a mist dispenser like this, try a can in there first if you want to save a few bucks.The dispenser has been working for a few weeks now just flawless with the batteries. No problems with it not working, it's doing it's job, and despite the easily fixed problem of the spray nozzle moving, it's a pretty solid item.If you are looking to spot treat smelly areas; I would suggest looking at the ONA blocks or the ONA quart jars. If you need timed smell control for areas you know are going to consistently stink (this thing is great near the litter box, just not too close as the spray can scare them into pooping on your office floor. True story.)

As other reviewers have pointed out, this product has a design flaw which causes the unit to spray to the side after the first spray.To counteract this, I folded a receipt paper down to a few cm across and wedged it in the right side of the spray nozzle to hold it straight. This held it straight but prevented it from spraying so I folded a sheet of computer paper and wedged that in the bottom of the canister to push it up as high as it would go in the unit. The unit now releases a full spray, straight ahead and works fine.I really like the ONA product and wish it's creators spent as much time developing the mister as they did the ONA product, which is the best odor neutralizer I've tried.

Item wasn’t strong enough to depress spray can without a little help. There was a little bit too much play that the can of aerosol could move.I tore pieces of the box to use as wedges at the bottom of the can to make it fit tight inside mister. Now, it was working when I installed it but I haven’t checked it since. I will repost if there is any change.

Hi,Re. Swiveling head of Ona Mist in Dispenser, if you change the spray head for a larger size, Air Wick or similar, the problem goes away, the spray head is too small so is able to move with the pressure of spraying.Hope this solves your problems, and gets rid of bits of cardboard !!.

I'll give this dispenser 4 stars and while the pro mist gets 5, this seems to be the dispenser you want for it. Thanks to both of the "folded paper' tips in this section (around tip/under base), my Ona Mist has been working great from day 1. I may even pick up another one!

Lasted 4 weeks before it broken when was accidentally dropped. It’s my fault for dropping it, but it fractured into hundreds of pieces with no hope of repair or even taping it together.

Works really well to mask smoking smell, however the machine goes crazy sometimes and makes it spray like 8 times in a row

My ONLY complaint is how difficult it is to get open to replace the can.
