Doubled in price since 2015, maybe 6" will do?
January 12, 2017
Will fit just about any 5 gal bucket.
nutrient splashes+Air+roots=BIGTASTYPLANT
Worst case lid requires a little motivation, but fits them all.
These were 6$ in 2015, glowing review at that price - not the 2x+ cost $12.67 at present???
These are sufficiently thick to last for years if not abused, easy to clean, but they do require at least a couple gallons of media.
The six inch version $4.99 will do if you don't plan to use meshpot media for growth and are all hydro, the media in 10" does offer a buffer for nutrients and soil life.
In a tapered 3gal bucket, maybe 3" underneath, in a 5gal room for 2.5/3gal nutrients AND an air gap..

I got this for an...odd reason I guess. I have 2 dogs and use ropes for them outside. Well when they get wet, or in particular when there's snow on the ground outside, they come back inside with the ropes dripping water. I put a bucket near the door and have this on top. Now the ropes immediately go into this strainer and I don't have to worry about getting water on the floor. It's also good because I like to spray Odoban on the ropes for obvious reasons - so now I'm not spraying everywhere and it's made a huge difference.
The strainer is very sturdy and fits perfectly over a standard sized bucket. Highly recommended, whatever your use for it is.

Heavy Duty and Very Durable - Holds 2.5 L of Clay Pellets
July 26, 2018
Heavy Duty and very durable. If you use Hydroton (Clay Pellets) for this 10-inch you will need almost 2.5 L. A 10 L bag of pellets will do 4 of these 10-inch net pots. Net Pot Dimensions, Top Outside Diameter 12 inches, Top Inside diameter 9.6 inches, Bottom diameter 8.1 inches, Length from Top to Bottom (Depth) 6.9 inches. I don't use this in a 5 gal pail, I use a 28 gal HDX Totes so I have approx. 13 gal of water just barely touching the bottom of the net pot. 5 gal pail is too small for my plants they get root bound and it will decrease yield.

It is big. I'm new at hydroponics and didn't realize how big this was. It fit into a 5 gal bucket however I was using pea pebbles and they fell through the openings. Bought a bag of lava rocks and a tomato plant. Washed the rocks and the soil off of the tomato plant, gently placed the roots around the rocks and put into the 5 gal bucket with a good hydroponic ferterlizer and a 4 inch air stone. Here's hoping. I think a 5 or 6 inch net pot would do the job. It is an adventure.

I use these in my DWC setup in 20 Gallon Brute garbage cans that are food grade. The Brute lid looks like it was made for this basket with this circle indention on the lid that if you cut it out, this net pot will fit in perfectly. Now my plant will have much more space for it to lean for training without distubing the stock much or tipping out of the lid or tipping the whole container. great price, fast shipping, great product. Very Happy with this purchase and seller.

Baskets arrived 3 days prior to the shippers eta, and I was very happily surprised to find that they are a lot heavier gauge plastic then I was anticipating. glad I didn't get flimsy ones like the last time from a different company. They fit perfectly into my 5 gallon deep water culture buckets that I grow hot papers in all year round.
I will re order more when needed, and recommend to my other friends who have water gardens.
Grow your own veggies.. its fun!

These baskets are humongous and are not for most plants. If, however, you are planning on growing a small tree or a very big plant that needs a heavier base, these baskets are perfect. They hold a lot of media, so be prepared to spend a lot more... in fact, much more than just 5x what you'd put in a 2" basket... Be prepared for that.
Anyway, once you get this locked down on a 5 gal bucket, it's a tight fit but it's is easy to remove/replace. Great product.

La description du produit est trompeuse
February 05, 2016

Sturdy and fits my buckets well, perhaps a little too well for my liking. I prefer the 6" basket lid for 5-gallon buckets since they require less media and have much less area for light to enter. This works well, but I don't see the need for my application to have this much media available. Tomatoes work well in both this and the 6" when properly staked and I use a lot less media in the 6".

This is a great option for both drip and deep water culture hydroponic setups! I happen to have one in each kind of setup at the moment, the DWC is growing two strawberry plants, and the drip system is growing 4 lettuces. Works great, fits all my 5 gallon buckets and stays very securely on the lid but is also rather easy to remove it when you have to.
