Perfect for cannabis

November 08, 2019

They work pretty good for cannabis seedlings. Popped up after just 3 days!! These get to a decent size, not small but not massive either, perfect. The material around mine were not plastic like the description says, thankfully mine were some sort of cotton fiber but not plastic(could just be some soft plastic like fabric i don’t know haha). Only tried 3 so far and I’m sure the rest of the bag will work. Had to plant my seedling a few days after they poped due to roots blowing through the bottom. I cut the fabric around the pellet before planting just because that’s how I like to do it and the puck holds together very well when wet. Overall I don’t think I’ll have to buy another bag for 5+ years lol

Jiffy 30mm Peat pellets. Good for seed starters

April 11, 2021

I ordered these as i have run out of peat pellets from a previously purchased Jiffy set. Figured i don’t need more domes, and simply order more pellets and re-use.
First impression: looks the same as the one in my previous set, expands the same. Only need to feel it as it expands if it requires a little bit more water to fully expand. Pictures supplied from how it looked arriving, while i was rehydrating a few pellets etc.

It’s still too wet for me to put seeds in so i will update again once seeds are in, and if my seeds sprouted okay.

Note: Bag it came in is not resealable once opened. You can always put unused pellets in a ziploc bag.

Not really practical

June 20, 2022

This is exactly as advertised. Expensive per pellet and the pellets are too small, you have to be really quick and calculated for transplanting which takes fun out of gardening and can make it stressful. When the starting pots are big it gives you so much time to fudge around if you're busy with life. None of the seeds were root bound because of the air pruning affect so pretty cool. I won't buy these again but I would think certain people would love them. Rooting hormone is a big plus.

It worked for all my seeds!

March 10, 2020

I used to get the Jiffy coco pellets, but they seemed to dry out fairly quickly. It took me a while to make the decision to buy a different pellet until I tried these peat pellets. Wow! Should I have bought these pellets a whilst ago? Yes! Most of my seeds germinated really quick, the peat stays moist for longer and the size of the pellets helped with roots development. I have used now 200 pellets and I am ordering more! Worth the buck!

Only a few seeds started

July 19, 2019

I used this product to start some seeds for the garden. Out of 72, only about eight germinated and two of those died very quickly. I had used a similar product but from a different brand earlier in the year to start more of the same seeds, and I had almost all of them start. I do not have a green thumb, so perhaps I did something wrong the second time. But as far as I can tell, the only difference was the brand of seed starter.

A convenient,no mess way to start seeds!

July 17, 2021

Thank you for your prompt service.
I am in love with these peat pots! I’ve gardened for years and never tried them before.
They’re so convenient, you don’t have the mess associated with pouring potting soil into tiny pots, and they cost less than buying starter pots and dirt! Each hardened puck grows into a netted pot of peat about 7x its size, when you add water. They’re a huge timesaver and a genius invention!

Good deal

February 12, 2021

These are the larger pellets. If you have the trays at home for the smaller ones, these won’t fit in the circles. But they’re great. I just set up 6 with flower seeds in my window they expanded as expected and other than a higher percentage of larger sticks than I expected, they are amazing for seed starting indoors and then throwing in a pot or right in the ground.

Medium-Size

March 08, 2020

These were great for my needs - any species will fit in these. The Jiffy 7's that come pre-loaded in a tray are very small plugs. These are about the same height, but wider. 60-70 of them will fill a standard tray, depending if you line them up in neat rows or cram as many in as you can. The only improvement I can suggest is the net is NOT biodegradable.

Not a good purchase

March 31, 2021

Looks like jiffy 7 I bought before but not the same! I planted my seeds as usual, hardly any grew, and the ones that grew died once it reached about 1 1/2 to 2 inch high. . Something wrong with materiel used in the making of those. I have used jiffy 7 for years with great result, this time to my surprise, it turned out really bad.

Ok for starting seeds

March 26, 2022

Although these say Jiffy I’m not sure they are the brand name ones. They seem muddier than the ones I normally use and seem to be holding too much water. Only 11 out of 36 that I planted have come up so far. I have replanted to see if more will come up. Could be the seeds I used or other factors as well tho.
